Deceiver 04:11
Well I guess you're a deceiver You never loved him any way He always said he'd never leave her I guess she didn't want to stay so... Shut up, shut up, shut up, You've had your time to talk, and I'm talking now And I hope you're proud of what you've become You just cause pain He wants you to know That he hasn't let go And he doesn't love anyone else So never look back and don't you, dare take that call She's a heart bleeder – I hope you never see her no So shield your heart from the sun, and keep your hands off the gun You're just another prize, is she worth the fight, you're on the borderline, you nearly lost your mind Because the truth hurts, don't you know? I never liked you when I met you Thought you were trouble from the start He's always blind to your distractions You nearly tore him apart so... Get out, get out, get out You've done enough for now, can't you see he's down And I hope you're proud of what you've become, You've just caused pain He wants you to know That he hasn't let go And he doesn't love anyone else So never look back and don't you, dare take that call She's a heart bleeder – I hope you never see her no So shield your heart from the sun, and keep your hands off the gun You're just another prize, is she worth the fight, you're on the borderline, you nearly lost your mind Because the truth hurts, don't you know?

I Just Do 03:52
We try to learn but we never grow I know it hurts but it never shows So I'm a little anxious about today I promised you that I'd never leave A silver ring and my honesty I hope these are the answers to your questioning So here's a letter that I wrote to you: I know your eyes will stop me heading for a fall It hurts to go to sleep alone without the warmth of your: Starlight please hold tight to me I'm fading out tonight I wear my heart upon my sleeve for everyone to see But I don't need a reason I'll never ask for a reason There'll come a time, there'll come a day Our patience thin and our tempers frayed And the last thing that you'll need is to hear my voice So promise me when the futures here Forget my sins, dry my tears And be all of the answers to my prayers I truly hope my letter finds you well: I know your eyes will stop me heading for a fall It hurts to go to sleep alone without the warmth of your: Starlight please hold tight to me I'm fading out tonight I wear my heart upon my sleeve for everyone to see But I don't need a reason I'll never ask for a reason I need you to notice I need you care I want you to want me To hold my hands

You know it hurts me when you claim that I act a little strange When you gaze upon my face do you feel I feel the pain But is it any wonder that I'm confused at all And I just want you to know that I need you here back home And I've taken steps out on my own But it’s drier than a desert and you burn when you’re alone So come on dear…. Maybe I’ll see you soon I took the train back home today maybe the rails will keep me sane my destinations the same maybe I'm the one who’s changed But is it any wonder that I'm confused at all And I just want you to know that I need you here back home And I've taken steps out on my own But it’s colder than December and you freeze when you’re alone So come on dear…. Maybe I’ll see you soon So here’s the final curtain honey, the blood left on my sleeve, I’ve been dancing round forever so cue the final killer scene I’ve believed for years in nothing, you've believed far less in me maybe chance will be a fine thing you’ll cut my shackles free so taste the sugar coating doesn't sweetness feel so grand does my song meet your approval?l does my heart meet your demands? I’ll leave my keys upon the table, my glass against the door, and the contents of my mirror across my bedroom floor And I just want you to know that I need you here back home And I've taken steps out on my own But it’s deeper than an ocean and I drown when I'm alone So come on dear…. Maybe I’ll see you soon

My Apology 05:06
I’m sorry for the times I caused the anguish in your eyes And I regret the pain I caused with my capacity to lie But I need you, to say you’ll forgive me, and love me I’m sorry to my family who needed more from me Every second I ignored you is a dose of misery But I’ve promise, that I'll keep my promises, I'm learning I’d love to answer, all of your questions With my deepest sincerity I hope you listen, with compassion And sympathy I’ll cry and I’ll bleed if I want to But fold it all inside, somewhere you’ll never find So all you’ll see is grey behind my eyes The circles I walk are so lonely So come and hold me, try to unfold me And colour in these heart shaped pencil lines I think about life, and wish I could take it from the start And my heart races so fast I fear my chest will break apart Because I remember The decisions that broke me, and changed me I wish I could reflect back on my childhood with joy Or look at sepia toned photographs with love at life gone by But it hurts, there’s nothing back there but sadness I’d love to be the man I could have And not this tower of broken skin Not this drawer of broken things Nor this peasant posed as king

REVIEWS:

"This is an absolutely stellar, beautiful first release, which could be likened to, and on a par with, acts such as Jacks Mannequin, City And Colour and even some Third Eye Blind. With his début EP “Human Minds” in the works, it wont be long before he is hitting the airwaves across the country." - GotGrog.com

"From Brighton, UK, Wayne Tomsett is one of the few artists who completely embodies every reason why unsigned music is just as worth listening to as signed or mainstream artists. His debut release, “Deceiver”, a folky, acoustic track, is beautiful in every area- the arrangement, composition, and performance is as flawless as it gets." - RedFluxRadio.com

"Tomsett surprises with his acoustic folk/pop offering, and even more so with his vocals. Broken and quite brittle, his singing voice carries emotion in every note. Wayne has a natural ability to keep his music exciting. Beautiful, uplifting and kind – this is definitely one to remember." - SQ Magazine

"Wayne has a nice clear sound and lyrics that have meaning to him and others. Adding this to his intrinsic understanding of song structure, melody, harmony and rhythm makes for a remarkable listening. So take a listen to him" - Trashcan Radio

"The single’s subtle opening of acoustic guitar and strings laid gently under vocal harmonies instantly grabs your attention. The phrasing of the song is great; each section building into the other and creating more emotion as the story unfolds. Wayne has clearly demonstrated his love and understanding of a good melody here as well as songwriting as a whole" - AltSounds.com

"Next up we have one of my favourite tracks on this particular podcast. When I was told about it I really didn't know what to expect. It's by a guy called Wayne Tomsett. Wayne is a metal vocalist, and most of the stuff I've heard from him has been particularly savage. But when I heard this, I was really, really blown away. I expected shouting, I expected it to be really heavy. I didn't in a million years expect anything like this" - Sound & Motion Podcast

"Wayne Tomsett sings like the imaginary lovechild of Brian Molko and Tracy Chapman" - Quiet Rebel
